Elephant Sanctuary & Giant Baobab Tree

Tarangire National park

Tarangire National Park is one of northern Tanzania’s most rewarding wildlife destinations, famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, diverse landscapes, and the Tarangire River that provides an important source of water for wildlife. The park offers an authentic safari experience and is an excellent destination to combine with Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, and Serengeti.Located in northern Tanzania, Tarangire National Park covers approximately 2,850 square kilometres. The park takes its name from the Tarangire River, which runs through the ecosystem and becomes particularly important during the dry season. The landscape is characterized by open grasslands, seasonal swamps, acacia woodland, rocky areas, and impressive baobab trees. This variety of habitats supports a remarkable range of wildlife and makes Tarangire visually different from many other parks in northern Tanzania. One of the park’s greatest attractions is its relatively quiet atmosphere compared with some of Tanzania’s more famous safari destinations. Visitors can enjoy extensive wildlife viewing while experiencing the distinctive scenery of the Tarangire ecosystem.

Tree Climbing Lion / Paradise of Baboon

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park is a beautiful and diverse wildlife destination in northern Tanzania, located along the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is famous for its scenic landscapes, groundwater forests, open grasslands, acacia woodlands, and the shallow alkaline Lake Manyara.Despite its relatively small size, the park offers an impressive variety of wildlife and habitats. During the wet season, the lake can attract large numbers of flamingos and other waterbirds, creating spectacular photographic opportunities. Lake Manyara is also well known for its tree-climbing lions.

Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable destinations, famous for the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater and its extraordinary concentration of wildlife. Located in northern Tanzania, the conservation area combines wildlife, dramatic landscapes, archaeological sites, and Maasai pastoralist communities. The Ngorongoro Crater is a vast volcanic caldera formed when a large volcano collapsed millions of years ago. Today, its fertile grasslands, forests, lakes, and wetlands provide an ideal habitat for a wide variety of wildlife.A visit to Ngorongoro offers the opportunity to experience breathtaking scenery and excellent wildlife viewing in one of Africa’s most unique natural environments.

Flamingo spot and Giraffes

Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park is one of northern Tanzania’s most scenic national parks, located only about 30 minutes by road from Arusha city. The park is dominated by Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest mountain at 4,566 metres, and features a remarkable combination of montane forests, open grasslands, volcanic landscapes, crater valleys, and the beautiful Momella Lakes. The park is an excellent destination for a short safari, day trip, walking safari, birdwatching experience, or as an introduction to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Its peaceful atmosphere and diverse landscapes make it very different from the larger savannah parks.

Wildlife Safari / Wildebeest Migration

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time of year to go on safari?
The best time largely depends on what you want to see. For the Great Migration in the Serengeti, June to October is ideal. However, the green season (November to May) offers lush landscapes, newborn animals, and fewer crowds.
Are your safaris suitable for families with children?
Absolutely. We design completely private, bespoke itineraries that cater to families. We carefully select family-friendly accommodations—whether you choose budget camping, mid-range, or luxury lodges—and incorporate activities that keep younger travelers engaged and safe.
What is included in the quote?
Our quotes generally cover all your chosen accommodations, internal transfers, private 4x4 game drives with expert Tanzanian guides, park fees, and meals. We always provide a clear, detailed breakdown of inclusions and exclusions for your specific itinerary.
Do I need specific vaccinations?
We highly recommend consulting with a travel clinic or your doctor before traveling to East Africa. Requirements vary by country, but generally, Yellow Fever, Malaria prophylaxis, and routine vaccines are discussed.
How strenuous is the Kilimanjaro climb?
Climbing Kilimanjaro is a challenging high-altitude trek that requires good physical fitness and mental stamina. However, no technical climbing skills are required. We pace our treks slowly to maximize your acclimatization and success rate.
